Transportation

Kilifi is located on Kenya's Indian ocean coast (Pwani is Swahili for Coast) between the bigger cities of Mombasa (2nd largest in Kenya) in the South and Malindi in the North. The workshop participants can either fly directly to Mombasa International Airport (MIA) from European hubs or via Nairobi. There are flights with Kenyan Airways almost every hour from Nairobi to Mombasa.

From Moi International Airport (MIA) to Kilifi , the participants will be collected by the organizers.

A commuting bus service (Airport ↔ Mnarani) will be available for all participants.

Accommodation for IRI 2024 workshop participants:

The workshop is organized with help from Pwani University (https://www.pu.ac.ke) in Kilifi. The main venue for the event is Mnarani Beach Club (https://www.mnarani.net//) near the university. Other accommodation options are Makuti Villa (through one of the booking services) and Silver Palm (https://www.silverpalmkilifi.co.ke/). Or you can use Airbnb, which can be organized prior to arrival.

Note:

For those who are booking at Mnarani Club, kindly mention "IRI 2024 Meeting" when making reservations to get the special corporate rate.
